SOUTHBURY - William F. Mikolsky, Jr. was called home to heaven on November 26, 2023 after a brief stay at the Lutheran Home Rehabilitation Center in Southbury. He died in his sleep from heart complications. He was the devoted husband of Gail (Syombathy) Mikolsky.
Bill was born on December 2, 1952, in Waterbury. He was the son of the late William and Betty Mikolsky from Waterbury, CT.
Bill attended St. Thomas grade school in Waterbury. He graduated from Wilby High School and Central Connecticut State College with a degree in Physical Education and Business. Bill retired from the Town of Southbury Public Works.
What brought Bill the greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his children and 5 grandchildren. He was an avid collector and enjoyed golf and baseball.
Left to honor Bill's love and legacy, besides his wife Gail of 45 years, are his children: Schuyler Cristoforo (Daniel) of Plymouth, MA, and Whitney Rinaldi (Adam) of Cheshire, CT. Bill and Gail were blessed with 5 grandchildren: Emma, Ellie, Evelyn and Daniel Cristoforo Jr., and Samantha Rinaldi. He was predeceased by his sisters: Judi Fossbender of Massachusetts and Janice McKibban of Riverside California.
Bill was a fourth degree Knight of Columbus and the immediate past Grand Knight of the Msgr. William Collins Council 5066 of the Knights of Columbus in Southbury, CT. He was a dedicated contributing member for many years who will be deeply missed.
The Carpino Funeral Home of Southbury has been honored to care for Bill and assist his family during this difficult time.
Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation from 4:00 - 8:00 PM on Monday, December 4, 2023 in the daily chapel of Sacred Heart Church, 910 Main Street South, Southbury, CT. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the church at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, December 5, 2023.
