Vincent Romeo Tribute

Vincent Romeo, born on November 4, 1937 to Perugrino (Perry) Romeo and Filomena (Minnie) Conti. Vincent passed away on September 30, 2020 in Southbury, CT.

Vincent was a 1955 graduate of Curtis High School in Staten Island, NY where he was frequently involved in dramatic production. Even as a 8 year old, he travelled to Manhattan for Broadway theatre productions. Geraldine Page was a dear friend in his youth, 10 years old. He later attended Cornell University and Wagner College. He served in the U.S. Army at Fort Dix, N.J. and was honorably discharged. Vincent was hired by Joe Baum of Restaurant Associates, which was famous for the restaurant Windows on the World among others. He later became Vice President of CBS Records International during the successful years of their record empire during the 1950’s and 60’s. While in London with CBS, he was hired to manage Paul McCartney and his Beatles partners along with Cat Stevens, David Bowie, Rod Stewart, among others. In Hollywood, he worked closely with Eddie Albert, Johnny Mathis, Barbara Streisand, and Liza Minelli. Vincent was known for his loyalty, empathy, generosity, and his playful sense of humor.

When in Venice, Italy Vincent would often visit art collector Peggy Guggenheim, an old friend. In 200 (with co-owner and lifelong friend, Edwin Sparn) he purchased a large house in Marrakech, Morocco, which became a social center for the resident local Moroccans, Americans, British, French, and Italian residents. They also profited from Vincent’s expertise in culinary arts.

Vincent also kept an apartment in Manhattan, NY, a country house on Candlewood lake, CT, where he loved to water ski.
