Veronica “Ronnie” Board, 83, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 27, 2023. She was the loving wife of the late Edward F. Board, with whom she shared 60 beautiful years.
Ronnie was born on August 10, 1940 in Teaneck, NJ to the late Salvatore and Katherine (O’Connor) Gentile. She worked in customer service for Pitney Bowes until her retirement.
Once retired, Ronnie and Ed made the most of their new found free time. They traveled the world together sharing many great adventures and experiences. She also found enjoyment in various craft projects, especially ceramics. Ronnie never considered herself a sports fan, but as time went on, she learned a little bit about football and baseball. In later years she could be found cheering on the Yankees or the Giants alongside her husband Ed. Ronnie loved her family, and would cook large Sunday dinners for them-showing her love for them through making their favorite meals and treats. Aside from being a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, Ronnie will be remembered as a beloved friend and neighbor. She will be missed greatly by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Left to cherish Ronnie’s memory are her children: Steven Board of Roxbury, VT, Michele (Michael) Cervone of Southbury, Veronica I. Board of Cedar Hill, TX, Edward C. (Michele) Board of Oxford, granddaughter Jennifer (Neil) Flynn of Norwood, MA, and great granddaughters Ainslee Elizabeth and Ellery Paige Flynn of Norwood, MA. She is also survived by her sister Barbara (Frank) Krajick of Dumont, NJ, and brother-in-law Walter J. Murphy of Newton, NJ, as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides her beloved husband Ed, Ronnie was preceded in death by her sister Katherine Murphy, and her brother, Roger Gentile.
