Thomas DeBacco, 84, of Southbury, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by loved ones on Sunday, January 9, 2022.
Born on August, 6, 1937 to the late William and Jean (D'Atillio) DeBacco, Thomas was one of eight children growing up in his hometown of Sommerville, NJ. Upon completing High School, he became a Section Forman for the Algonquin Gas pipeline. His career with Algonquin, which spanned over the course of 40+ years, eventually brought him here to Connecticut, where he began to raise a family in Southbury, CT.
In the last 20 years of his life, Thomas bought a house with a pond in Woodbury, CT. He enjoyed spending his time feeding the fish in the pond, tending to the yard, working around the house, and appreciating his time there with his fiancé Linda. Thomas is remembered as a happy and peaceful man, and truly loved time spent with his many friends and family.
Thomas is survived by his son, Thomas DeBacco Jr. (and his wife Nanette), his daughter Donna Smyser (and her husband William), and his loving fiancé Linda Brinley.
Services will be announced at a later date. The Carpino Funeral Home of Southbury has been entrusted with the arrangements. To leave a message of remembrance, please visit www.carpinocares.com.
