SOUTHBURY - Sabina Felica Falzone, 83, a new angel, was welcomed home on January 18, 2024. Sabina was born June 7, 1940 in Brooklyn, New York. Sabina and her three children made Southbury their home in 1967. She had a deep love of horses, and her dream was to someday own a horse farm, to share her passion with others. She achieved her goal in 1994, when she moved to 750 Southford Road and created Sabill's Morgan Horse Farm. Before that she co-owned The Three Gables, later to become 88 Main Street South, and The Rathskeller Lounge. Sabina was Voter Registrar for Southbury as well as special needs assistant at Pomperaug Elementary School.
Sabina relished sharing her love of horses with her children and grandchildren. She grew Sabill's into a family run horse farm, where she opened her home and heart to adults and children of all ages and abilities, teaching them the way of the horse. When Sabina retired from day-to-day farm work, you could still find her working out in her gardens or raking her driveway. Thank you to all those who texted us when Sabina was outside driving her tractor in extreme heat. Sabina, your pain is gone, your stay was short and your memory will last forever. You have touched so many and were loved by all. Always there for us when we were about to fall, it was a whisper of an angel your words will be. The glory of an angel your light shall be. Our new guardian angel you will be.
Sabina is survived by her three children: Robert Palmer Jr. and wife Kristine, Pamela Schelling and husband Edward Sr., and Scott Palmer. Her seven grandchildren: Justin Palmer, Sarah Palmer Baker and husband Daniel, Ed Schelling Jr. and wife Lauren, and Michael Schelling and wife Jaclyn; as well as her great-grandchildren: Madison Paige Schelling, Jonathan Palmer, Devin Carlquist and husband Mike, Axel and Gunnar Carlquist, Tyler Alexson and husband Tom.
Private services have taken place for immediate family at the Carpino Funeral Home of Southbury. A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date. In lieu of flowers, Sabina requested any donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, www.stjude.org, in her memory.
