Robert Spiewak Tribute

SOUTHBURY - Robert Francis Spiewak of Southbury died on December 24, 2020 at the age of eighty-one.  Loving husband to his wife of fifty-eight years Christine Spiewak (Barry) of Heritage Village. He was the proud father to Jeffery Spiewak, Craig Spiewak, Beth Simmons and Scott Spiewak and their respective spouses, and Grandpa to ten grandchildren.  Robert is also survived by brother Gerald Spiewak of Crystal Lake, Illinois and sister Kathleen Skinkis of Cicero, Illinois.  Born and raised in Chicago, Illinois Robert attended Roosevelt University where he studied chemistry and mathematics for his undergraduate degree.  He would later attain a Masters degree in Business Administration.  Robert was a teacher prior to advancing to a sales executive position at American Can Company for over twenty years.

An active member of Sacred Heart church in Southbury, Robert truly enjoyed participating in the choir for ten years.  His love for music was further reflected in his affinity for Polish song and dance.  His faith and family were the cornerstone of all that was important to him. He will be remembered for coaching little league and his commitment to scouting.   Robert was an avid fisherman on both the rivers of Connecticut and on the deep water of Cape Cod.  A sports enthusiast, Robert showed particular fondness for both his Chicago Cubs and Bears.  He will be remembered for his unending compassion and be sadly missed by all those who were fortunate to have known him.

Due to COVID restrictions, visiting hours will not be held.  A memorial mass will be said in Roberts honor at Sacred Heart Church at a time that will be announced.  To leave a message of remembrance, please visit www.CarpinoCares.com.
