SOUTHBURY - It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Robert John DiCintio. Known to his friends and family as Bobby, he was born on April 10th, 1939, at St Joseph’s Hospital in Yonkers, NY, to his parents Dominick and Margaret (Gelomini). Bobby died peacefully from natural causes in his home in Southbury, CT, with his wife Carol by his side. He was 81 years of age.
Bobby lived an outstanding life full of love and compassion for all those that he knew, especially his family. He owned and operated J&R Auto Body, a very successful business in Scarsdale, NY, for over two decades. Bobby’s love for sports started at a young age, he graduated from Eastchester HS and was inducted into the school’s sports Hall of Fame. He was an avid Yankees and Giants fan and could be found relaxing in his chair directing the players and coaches on what needed to be done.
He raised three outstanding children, Margie Iaiennaro (Joe), Bobby DiCintio (Clayton), and Christopher DiCintio (Suzanne). His devotion to his family was evident to anyone that knew him. He loved nothing more than to spend quality time with his seven grandchildren (Brittany, Alison, Christopher, Danielle, Franky, Jacob, and Layton), attending their sporting events, school functions, and family gatherings. Bobby left behind the love of his life, Carol DeMarco, whom he was married to for 57 years. Bobby is survived by his sisters Margaret and Jeanne as well as brother Dominick. He is predeceased by his siblings, John, Joseph, Victor, Helen, Elizabeth, and Marie. Bobby will be sorely missed but he made his mark in life by gracing those that he knew and loved.
Due to COVID-19, his family will be holding a memorial service in the months to follow. An exact date and place will be sent to those that want to pay their respects when time permits. The Carpino Funeral Home of Southbury has been entrusted with the arrangements. To leave a message of remembrance, please visit www.CarpinoCares.com.
