SOUTHBURY - Reed Thomas Buonincontri, 6, was called to his eternal resting place on December 13, 2020. He entered this world on April 13, 2014 in Danbury, CT, born to Joseph and Sarah (Gonzalez) Buonincontri. Besides his parents, Reed is survived by his brother, Clark Joseph (CJ) Buonincontri; his paternal grandparents, Thomas and Lucille Buonincontri; and his maternal grandparents, Sharon Clark and Dario (Sha) Gonzalez. Reed is also survived by aunts and uncles: Nicholas (Rika) Buonincontri, Ann Buonincontri; Brenda (Morgan) Gonzalez and Paul Gonzalez; as well as his cousins Wyatt and Emmett.
Reed was in the 1st grade at Long Meadow Elementary School in Middlebury. He was a spirited little guy with a big heart. Reed brought joy and laughter to whoever he was with. He always knew the right moment to crack a joke or drop a witty one liner. Reed loved running around outside with his blue lightsaber and watching Youtube tutorials.
-Words from his mom:
Reed Thomas, Munchie Moo, Reedy, Reedy Roo, Baby Cake.
Reed was the boy with dozens of completely random nicknames that he always answered too even before he could talk. My little spark. He was everything this world needed. The boy who loved his Princess Peach pink pajamas, who would find a friend in with a bolt found in a parking lot or a plant he would drag out of the pond, little fish who he would swear “he winked at me mommy! He winked at me because I’m tiny like him!”, who loved toy kitties and stuffies and begged me for each and every one of them we would see, said he was going to be a singer when he grew up, who thought there was no word funnier than the word poop, who “NEEDED” more nerf guns for Christmas even though he had a whole bag of them, who knew his brother would be his best friend for life, who gave the best kisses and snuggle-hugs a mom could ask for. 6 years and 8 months was all he could be here for. But I had him, all to myself, for 38 weeks, 1 day and 51 hours before I had to share his light with the rest of the world. It’s unfair to expect a mother to continue without her child. I will, but with only half my heart left. I will. No one else will understand the strength of my love for you, after all you are one of the only two to know the sounds of my heart from the inside. I’m so lucky to be your mommy.
