Randolph V. Dixon, 76, of Oxford, entered into eternal rest on Friday, February 2, 2024 with his family by his side. Randy was the beloved husband of Barbara Ann (Toth) Dixon, with whom he spent 50 wonderful years.
Randy was born in Council, North Carolina on January 19, 1948, to Paul and Rebecca (Wright) Dixon.
A hard worker his entire life, Randy received his Bachelor's Degree from Fayetteville State University followed by a Master's Degree in counseling from The University of Bridgeport, and a sixth year degree in Administration. He went on to work for the Bridgeport school system for 39 years, proudly serving as Principal of John Winthrop School for 9 years before his retirement in 2011. He was awarded The George Bellinger Leadership Award in 2008 and took great pride in his role as school Principal.
He loved nothing more than living and working on the farmland that he and his wife created for their family in Oxford.
Randy is lovingly remembered by his wife Barbara, their three children, Rebecca DePalma and her husband Eric, of Florida; Jennifer Mezick and her husband Matthew of Oxford and Michael Dixon and his fiancé Jessica Harrington of Hamden; six cherished grandchildren, Melanie, Isla, Luca, Remi, Noah and Evangeline; and his mother, Rebecca Dixon of Council, North Carolina.
