Rachel Clavette

WOODBURY - Rachel Clavette, age 83, passed away on November 8, 2022 at home with her family by her side. She was the beloved wife of Fernand Clavette for 63 years.

Rachel was born on August 17, 1939 in New Brunswick Canada, to the late Sylvio and Jean (Morneault) Picard.  While  growing up in New Brunswick she met and married her husband, Fernand, in 1959.  They later moved to Connecticut and settled in Woodbury, where they raised their family and spent 59 years together. Rachel also worked for Duda and Goodwin, a local Woodbury machine parts business, then later she worked briefly for the food service department at IBM in Southbury.

Besides her husband, Rachel is survived by her four sons: Steve Clavette, Gary Clavette, Donald Clavette, and David (Laure) Clavette; her 3 grandchildren: Tierney, Leo, and Emma; as well as many extended family members. Rachel was preceded in death by her beloved daughter Susan Clavette Kovacs.

Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation from 5:00 - 7:00 PM on Thursday, November 17, 2022, at Carpino Funeral Home, 750 Main Street South in Southbury.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Friday, November 18, 2022, at St. Teresa of Avila Church, 146 Main Street South (Rte. 6) in Woodbury.  Interment will immediately follow in New North Cemetery.  For directions, or to leave a message of remembrance, please visit www.CarpinoCares.com.
