SOUTHBURY - Paul Clifford Katzmark, 80, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 15, 2021, at the Lutheran Home of Southbury. He was the loving husband of Judith (Dueshop) Katzmark.
Paul was born in Chicago, IL along with his twin brother, Peter Charles, to Paul V. and Genevieve Katzmark. In 1963, Paul married Judith, and together had a son, Michael John and daughter, Victoria Anne, and then grandchildren, Conor Brady and Katrina D'Antonio.
Paul attended Southern Illinois University graduating with accounting and mathematics degrees, but pursued his love of computers throughout his career. His skills in creating programs to glean information from vast amounts of data was legendary and sought by diverse organizations such as Sears to create their credit card system, TWA for the PARS reservations, and the NY Police Department for the 911 emergency number.
He actively gave his time and talents in retirement to Heritage Village serving as condo trustee and Village Treasurer, the Town of Southbury as Chair of the Zoning Board of Appeals and on the Cable Advisory Board. He also created programs for the Southbury Republican Town Committee and St. James Lutheran Church.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Friday, June 4, 2021 at Sacred Heart Church, 910 Main Street South in Southbury. The family will receive visitors prior to Mass from 10:00 - 10:45 AM in the Chapel of Sacred Heart Church. Interment will immediately follow at New North Cemetery in Woodbury.
