Nina Theiss Tribute

WOODBURY - Nina Theiss, age 76, passed away on Friday,  June 3, 2022 after an extended illness.  She resided in Woodbury, CT for most of her life. Nina Jane Hennessey was born on September 16, 1945, the daughter of the late EllaRita and John Hennessey.  She graduated Southbury High School in 1963. Her education continued at Western Connecticut State College.  In her early career, she was a teacher in the New Milford and Southbury school systems.  Her family grew with the birth of her sons, and she returned to the work force, joining the banking industry.  She advanced her career from a bank teller to assistant bank manager at TD Bank North from which she retired.

Nina is survived by her two sons, Gregg Theiss of Orange, CT,  (his wife Christine and grandchildren Claire and Duncan), and Kevin Theiss of Woodbury, CT (and grand-dog Bohdi),  siblings:  John Hennessey of Chester, VT; Barbara Schulz of Southbury, CT; H. David Hennessey of Charlestown, MA (his wife Liz); Ellarita Hennessey of Southbury, CT; Molli Hennessey of Sparta, TN and niece Heidi Schulz of North Carolina.

Nina enjoyed music, played piano, and was a member Woodbury's North Congregational Church bell choir.  She appreciated gardening and the beauty her flowers provided.  Family and friends partook in her excellent oatmeal chocolate chip cookies.

A private burial will be at the convenience of the family. Carpino Funeral Home of Southbury is in charge of arrangements.
