SOUTHBURY - Melvin A. Monde of Southbury, passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side at Shady Knoll Health Center, on Wednesday, March 4, 2020, after a courageous struggle with Multiple Myeloma. He was the beloved husband of Irene (Manzo) Monde.
Melvin was born on May 14, 1939, son of Elizabeth (Meckler) and Harold Emil Monde.
Melvin was employed by the Southbury Training School as well as being a self-employed carpenter and locksmith, known as "The Key Meister" in the area. He was a member of the CT Council of Trout Unlimited, the Locksmith Association of CT (LAOC) and the CT Employees Union.
Melvin's wife Irene, and grandson Ryan enjoyed many trips throughout the U.S. visiting historic homes and museums. He also enjoyed visiting various zoos and parks, and attending live theater shows. He and Irene enjoyed many years of happy times together.
Besides his wife Irene, Melvin is survived by his son Joseph (Lisa) Monde and their son Ryan; his daughter Erin (Allan) Oliva; and his brother Harold Monde. Melvin will also be missed by niece Lee-Ann Roberts of Massachusetts; and niece Kristine Monde of Iowa. He was predeceased by his sister-in-law Susan Monde.
