SOUTHBURY - Maxine A. Zdankiewicz, 79, of Southbury, passed away on Friday, November 26, 2021. She was the loving wife of Edward Zdankiewicz.
Maxine was born in Detroit, MI on December 17, 1941 to the late Walter and Mary Ann (Bonkowski) Sobzcak. She was raised in Detroit and graduated from St. Francis DeSales High School, and later from Highland Park Junior College. Maxine married her beloved husband Ed in 1963, and together they relocated to Maryland in 1964. They settled in Bowie, MD which turned out to be a wonderful place to raise their 3 children. In 1991 Ed and Maxine relocated to Annapolis, MD. Maxine worked as a medical records librarian at several locations in the Washington D.C. area. Maxine and Ed retired and moved to Southbury 15 years ago to be close to family.
Besides her husband, Maxine will be missed by her 3 sons: Edward W. Zdankiewicz of MO; John G. (Debra) Zdankiewicz of N.C.; and Peter D. (Eleanor Berry) Zdankiewicz of CT; as well as 6 grandchildren whom she adored and loved. Maxine is also survived by her 2 brothers: Gregory J. (Susan J. Warford) Sobzcak; and Donald J. Sobzcak, all of Michigan.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, December 3, 2021 at Sacred Heart Church, 910 Main Street South in Southbury. Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation immediately prior to the mass in the Daily Chapel of Sacred Heart Church from 10:00 - 10:45 AM. Burial will be private.
