SOUTHBURY - On February 25,2023, Mary Arlene (Minks) Cahill, a beloved wife, mother and friend, passed away at home in Southbury with her family at her side. 98 years young, Arlene was born to Mary Agnes and Lenny Minks in Parkersburg, West Virginia September 9, 1924.

Arlene graduated from Parkersburg High School, where she excelled in visual arts and had planned to attend The Art Institute of Chicago Art School, but her family moved to California so, instead, she headed further west. Arlene met her husband, William T. Cahill, in high school. Their love remained strong while Mr. Cahill served in the Army Air Corps during World War II, stationed in England. Once the War ended, they stayed close while he attended Georgetown University.  Once Mr. Cahill graduated, they wed in November 1949, and were married nearly 40 years.

The Cahills were blessed with seven children whom Arlene raised while her husband worked in sales, and traveled weekly, for Corning Glass Works. The Cahills cultivated an abundance of friends wherever they lived. Arlene enjoyed volunteering for New Comers and Junior Women's' Clubs wherever they lived. Arlene enjoyed her work at the College Center of Finger Lakes in Corning, NY from 1979 until 1985.

Arlene was predeceased by her husband in 1989, as well as one son, Ralph Patrick in 1972 and one daughter, Margaret Ann in 2007. Arlene is survived by Mary Constance Murray (husband Kevin) of Rochester NY and Naples FL; Dr. Patricia Brines (husband Michael) of Woodbridge CT; Dr. William Cahill (wife Mary Ann) of El Dorado Hills, CA; Kathryn Burns (husband Gregory) of Salem MA; Michael Cahill (wife Xiamora) of Fredericksburg, TX. Arlene was blessed with twelve grandchildren and five great-grandchildren whom she loved very much.
