Marjorie Moehring Tribute
Marjorie Moehring, 89, formerly of Southbury, CT departed this life on April 22, 2024 at Maplewood Assisted Living in Bethel. She was the beloved wife of the late John L. Moehring and mother of the late John P. Moehring, formerly of Middlebury.
Marjorie was born in Bronx, NY to the late John P. and Edna (McGuire) Griffin. She lived most of her life in Norwalk, CT, graduating from Norwalk High School in 1953. Her friends knew her as "Margie", and she was active in student council, intramural basketball, and several other clubs and committees.
In 1953, Marjorie married John L. Moehring, Jr. They were married for 47 years and had one child, John P. Moehring.
Until her retirement in 2011, Marjorie was an administrative assistant in the Town of New Canaan's Department of Public Works. She enjoyed socializing with her colleagues and taking walks on warm days. When at home, Marjorie could be found in her yard gardening or watching old western movies. She had a lifelong love of animals would occasionally "adopt" a neighborhood cat (or two) in need of food, water or attention.
Marjorie is survived by her grandchildren Charlotte and Brendan Moehring of Sandy Hook, her daughter-in-law, Barbara Moehring, and her nieces;Helen Ferrer and her husband Mike, Cindy Rossetti and her husband James of Newtown, and Lisa Nazzaro and her husband Jeffrey of Danbury.
A funeral service will be held on May 4, 2024 at 9:00 AM at Carpino Funeral Home in Southbury, CT. Interment will follow at St. John's Cemetery in Norwalk.
