Marian Cummings

SOUTHBURY - On Sunday, October 27, 2019, Marian M. Wentworth-Cummings, devoted wife and mother of four, passed away at the age of 93. Marian was born September 23, 1926 in the small town of Lebanon Maine, to the late Merl T. and Bessie (Hines) Wentworth of East Rochester NH.

Donald Cummings and Marian were married in Wilton CT on August 12, 1947, and in 1954 moved to Westport CT, where they lived for 21 years and raised their four children: Glen, Pam, Craig and Muriel. 

Donald and Marian moved to Woodbury in October 1984, where they enjoyed their home on Upper Grassy Hill Road. In the 1980’s, Marian had a small card & gift shop in Woodbury Plaza that was open for several years. She loved gardening and was very devoted to the Roxbury Congregational Church, where she served as head of Women’s Circle and Bible Study. She participated in and helped with many church functions over the years, working with her fellow church members and the Reverend David Peters.

A funeral service was held on Wednesday, October 30, 2019 at the Carpino Funeral Home, 750 Main Street South, Southbury, at 10:00am.  Burial followed at New North Cemetery in Woodbury.
