Magdalene J. Shuster

SOUTHBURY - Magdalene J. Shuster, 92, died on Wednesday, January 4, 2023. She was the widow of Harold Shuster. 

She was born in Brooklyn, NY, the daughter of the late William J. and Magdalene A. (Kircher) Schwickert of Middle Village, L. I., New York. Raised on Long Island, she later lived in New Jersey and Connecticut. 

Her brothers William A. and Russell C. Schwickert predeceased her. She leaves several nieces and nephews in Michigan, Ohio, North Carolina and Florida and very close cousins Mary Lou and Allan McGuire of New Hampshire. 

She was an active member and communicant of Midd-South Roman Catholic Church of Southbury, CT. Upon moving to Heritage Village she became an active member of the Condo 16 Board of Directors and Condo 16 President. She served on the Computer Club Board of Directors, Ten Pin Bowling League, Director of the Civic Association, member of the H.V. Ambulance Association, and the Pomperaug Ladies Nine Hole Golf Association. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 AM on Friday, January 13, 2023 at Sacred Heart Church, 910 Main Street South in Southbury.  A period of visitation will take place immediately prior to the Mass from 10:00 - 10:45 AM in the Hospitality Room of the church. Burial will be in Newtown Village Cemetery at a later date.
