A beloved father, son, brother, and friend, Kevin M. FitzGerald passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday December 23rd, 2020 in the comfort of his mother’s home.
In the words of Kevin, “Bad things happen to good people sometimes. It isn’t bad if you can find just one piece of good in it. And that’s what makes me go on.” While our life on earth is not eternal, Kevin was taken from our world too soon. Being a man that could start a conversation with just about everyone, Kevin led a life of service to those he met along his journey through life. He often said, “I believe that the universe has a way of guiding us forward through our lives with the help of spirits and angels.” Kevin was known for his ability to make others laugh, sneaking snacks at midnight, and MacGyver-ing just about anything to make life just a little easier. Kevin leaves behind his mother Irene, his beloved three children – Zachary, Ashley “Buttercup”, and Caitlin “Wild Thing” and their mother Susan, his girlfriend Linda and her two sons, as well as “Pup”, and extended family and many friends. Kevin is predeceased by his father Robert “Bobby” FitzGerald, his brother Raymond FitzGerald, his brother-in-law Daniel Adams, his cousin John O’Hare, his best friend Tommy, and the many others that crossed paths with him. Kevin will be dearly missed, though his legacy will be carried on for years to come. Services will be held privately for immediate family. Those wishing to honor Kevin are asked to share their fondest memories with his mother and three children via mail sent to Ashley Fitz Gerald at 21 Berkshire Rd Sandy Hook, CT 06482. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to his three children to help ease the costs of Kevin’s final arrangements at https://www.gofundme.com/f/honoring-kevin-m-fitzgerald. Kevin’s care has been entrusted to Carpino Funeral Home in Southbury, CT.
