John Mikula Tribute

SOUTHBURY - John Francis Mikula, 82, of Southbury, CT, formerly of Bethel, passed away peacefully at home as were his wishes on June 2, 2020.  He was surrounded by those who loved him; his wife, children and grandchildren.  John was born in Bronx, NY on March 15, 1938, to the late Frank and Irene (Reilly) Mikula.  He was the beloved husband of Elin (Holgerson) Mikula of over 57 years, he leaves his children, Lynn Mikula Bailey of East Windsor and Jill Kriauciunas and husband Robert of Newtown, his brother, Joseph Mikula and wife Connie of Hamden;  his sister, MaryAnn Guerriero and husband Peter of New Jersey; 5 grandchildren, Joseph Bailey, Nicolette Bailey, Megan Bailey, Chloe Kriauciuas and Jarvis Kriauciunas.  

He was known as “Frank” or “Max” by many who knew and loved him in the Bronx where he grew up and in NY where he lived and worked for many years.  He loved baseball and was on many teams beginning in Roosevelt High School; a fierce competitor and a tremendous pitcher.  He was a serious competitor while Bowling in various leagues in NY for decades winning countless awards and trophies.

A “Celebration of Life" will be held at Carpino Funeral Home, 750 Main Street South, Southbury, CT on Saturday, June 6, 2020 between 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. Burial will take place on Monday, June 8, 2020 at Pine Hill Cemetery in Southbury, CT.  Memorial contributions in John’s name may be directed to the Carpino Funeral Home, www.CarpinoCares.com to help with his funeral expenses, or to the American Lung Association at www.Lung.org.  To leave a message of remembrance, please visit www.CarpinoCares.com
