SOUTHBURY - John Victor Bazzoni Jr, 60, unexpectedly departed this life on March 13, 2023 at his home in Southbury, CT. He was the beloved husband of Marya Bazzoni.
Born to Elizabeth (Palastro) Bazzoni and the late John Victor Bazzoni Sr. John attended Central Connecticut State University where he received a Bachelor of Science degree.
He worked at COWI Marine North America where he was a Construction Engineer Chief Specialist. He was also a commercial diver.
John was an integral part of the volunteer security team at St. Rose of Lima Roman Catholic Church. He was a man of God. He was a patriot.
John enjoyed spending time with his family on vacation near the ocean. He loved listening to classic rock with his son Christian on long car rides to Maine. He loved photography, he was a first aid and CPR instructor.
John is survived by his wife: Marya; mother: Elizabeth; son: Christian; step-sons: Rob, and Erich (Jennifer) Heckmann; sisters: Lori (Michael) Mason and Danielle (Oscar) Duff. He was loved by his grandchildren: Ema, Hannah, and Lucas. John also leaves behind his niece: Victoria; and nephews: Max and Jack Mason.
Everyone who knew him would tell you we was a gentle soul with a kind heart. He gave to many and always put others before himself. He will leave this world a better place and all who knew him loved him.
The Carpino Funeral Home of Southbury, CT has been entrusted with John's arrangements. Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation from 5:00 - 7:00 PM on Friday, March 17th, at Carpino Funeral Home, 750 Main Street South in Southbury. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for John at 1:00 PM on Saturday, March 18th, at St. Rose of Lima Roman Catholic Church, 46 Church Hill Road in Newtown.
