Joana Healey

Joana Aldona Paliulis Healey, 69, of Southbury, passed away on October 5, 2023 after a battle with cancer.

Joana was born on August 10, 1954 in Waterbury, CT to Albina and Kazimeras Paliulis. She attended Sacred Heart High School and Uconn School of Pharmacy, after which she went on to pursue her lifelong passion of a career as a pharmacist. At Uconn she met the love of her life, Brian, and they married October 29, 1983. Joana dreamed of becoming a mother for many years, and delighted in the birth of her daughter, Audra, in February 1989.

Her family was of the utmost importance to her and she showered them with love every day of her life. A lifelong reader, Joana instilled a love of books and learning to her daughter. She was never happier than in Maine reading by the sea. Her sense of humor was unparalleled. Joana showed fierce strength and determination as she battled her illness. 

Her loss will be felt by all who knew her, but most keenly by her spouse, Brian, her daughter, Audra, and her mother, Albina. 

Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation from 4:00 - 8:00 PM on Tuesday, October 10, 2023 at Carpino Funeral Home, 750 Main Street South in Southbury.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at Sacred Heart Church, 910 Main Street South in Southbury.
