Jean F. (Danner) Watson

SOUTHBURY - Jean F. Watson, 100, passed away on October 13, 2023. 

Jean was preceded in death by her loving husband of 53 years, Walter Watson. She was the devoted mother of seven children. She is survived by her son Mark Watson (his wife Susan) and her daughter Maryjean Watson Avery (her husband David), and her daughters-in-law Kelley Watson and Theresa Doucette. She is also survived by her grandchildren Kristen White, Angela Watson, Kara Wanzer, Bryan Watson, Mya Watson, Erin Watson, Jake Watson, Derek Watson, Walden Avery, and Harrison Avery; as well as her great grandchildren Liza White, Tilghman White, Ella Wanzer, Cole Wanzer, Quinn Watson and Mae Watson. She was predeceased by her sons Walter, Joseph, Douglas, Gregory, and Kenneth. 

Born in Wilkes-Barre Pennsylvania, to the late Charles Danner and Mary Reilly, Jean lived most of her life in New Jersey, and later Connecticut. 

Since her childhood, Jean loved visiting her favorite place: the South Jersey Shore. She and her husband ultimately found a vacation home in Avalon, providing a wonderful gathering place for family and friends.

Jean loved teaching English as a second language to elementary school children, and was an active artist. She was a woman of strong faith and deeply loved her family. Jean was a light to all who knew her.

Family and friends may visit Carpino Funeral Home on Monday, October 16, 2023, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Services for Jean will be private and at the convenience of the family. 
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Jean's name can be made to the charity of your choice.
