Harriet (Lund) Mays passed away peacefully on March 28, 2023.
She was 102 years old.
She was also a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, sister, Auntie H, wife, friend, matriarch, Christian, native Chicagoan, 1938 graduate of Amundsen High, a swimmer, third baseman, Cubs fan, WWII wife and survivor, organist, educator, para-professional at Gainfield Elementary School and Nonnewaug High School, baker, knitter, Wednesday Night Quilting Club member, lunch partner, Texas transplant, tea drinker, optimist, gardener, college basketball fan, proud New Englander, retiree, cowbell ringer at football games, advice giver (whether we wanted it or not), centenarian, ageless, Covid survivor, Covid victim.
Our biggest fan.
Our greatest supporter.
Always lived life on her terms.
But most importantly, she was Grams.

Harriet is predeceased by her father and mother, George and Frances Lund. Husband Aubrey Jay Mays. Her sister Shirley Turpin and her husband Howard, her sister Margien Lund, and her brother George “Bud” Lund along with his wife Shirley.
She is survived by her daughter Jane Ciccone and her beloved son-in-law Jerry. Son Norman Larson and his wife Emily.
Her grandchildren Derek Ciccone, Jason Ciccone and his wife Tracy, Curt Ciccone and his wife Kristen, Erik Larson and his wife Morgan, and Kristen Larson.
Her favorite nieces, Robin Turpin, Laurie Soderholm and Carron Jansen.
And the great-grandchildren whom she loved dearly and always said they “kept her young,” Jackson, Luke, Alexandra, Ryan, Nick, Tim, Tyler, Darel, and their children.
