Giovanni "John" Campanile, 72, formerly of Southbury, departed this life on December 11, 2020 at St. Mary's Hospital in Waterbury. He was the beloved husband of the late Michaeline (Catalano) Campanile.
John was born in Salerno, Italy on December 10, 1948 to the late Rafael and Michela (Russo) Campanile. He was raised in Italy until the age of 16 before he traveled to the United States on his own. When he arrived he opened his own pizza restaurant, which he operated before moving on to other professions. He retired as a HVAC machinist for Pitney Bowes in Stamford, CT.
John is survived by: daughters Christine (Peter) Blunt, and Michelle (Ed) Kravitz; three grandchildren: Cameron, Trevor, and Adriana; sister Regina (Vincent) Nastri; brother Pasquale Campanile; as well as many nieces, nephews, and other extended family. Besides his wife, John was predeceased by one sister.
Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation from 4:00PM - 6:00PM on Friday, December 18, 2020 at the Carpino Funeral Home, 750 Main Street South, in Southbury.
