Francis (Frank) Dempsey

Francis T. Dempsey Jr., age 81 of Aurora, OH, formerly of Bridgeport, CT, passed away on February 12, 2022. Frank was a career Marine, having served 28 years and achieved the rank of Sergeant Major. He served 2 tours in Vietnam along with the evacuation of Saigon. During his dedicated career to the Marine Corps, Frank received numerous awards and medals, but he was most proud of the Bronze Star for heroic achievement in combat and the Purple Heart. Frank was a compassionate, loving and gentle-hearted soul who enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, listening to audiobooks and fishing in Connecticut and Ohio. Frank is survived by his wife, Jacquelyn; step-children, Jeffrey (Jayne), Beth Anne (Gregg) Martin and Christopher Bull; children, Barbara Ann (Frank) Murnane, Patrick (Nancy) Dempsey and Todd Dempsey and siblings, Grace Patrick and Deborah (Robert) Edgar. He was predeceased by his parents, Francis and Ida Dempsey, and siblings, Marjorie, Eileen and David. He will be dearly missed by his grandchildren, Ashley and Jessica, Ally and Tyler Martin, Connor Bull, Sean Murnane, and Matthew Dempsey as well as many nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Saturday, March 12, 2022 at Sacred Heart Church, 910 Main Street South in Southbury, CT.
