SOUTHBURY - Edward Pulnik, 95, of Southbury, passed away on April 12, 2023 at River Glen Healthcare Center. He was the loving husband of Lorraine Pulnik for 70 years.
Edward was born on July 1, 1927 in Sayreville, NJ to the late John and Bronislawa (Soya) Pulnik.
Edward graduated from Leavenworth High School in 1945. He enlisted in the Army in 1946, serving in Japan during the end of WWII. He was employed as a machinist with Waterbury Farrell Foundry from which he retired after 30 years.
Edward was an avid golfer, having learned to play while stationed in Japan, and continued to play during his many years at Heritage Village. He enjoyed his time both working at and playing at Pomperaug Golf Course. You would find him cheering on the San Francisco Giants during baseball season and his beloved New York Giants during football Season. He was a member of the Heritage Village Men's Club and a life member of the Catholic War Veterans Post 1042.
Edward is predeceased by his wife Lorraine; is survived by his son Stanley Pulnik, daughter-in-law Helene Pulnik, granddaughters Jeannette Pulnik and Kathryn Pulnik, his sister-in-law Angela Theriault, brother-in-law Norbert Theriault and brother-in-law Edward Reinhard Sr.
There will be an hour of visitation in the Daily Chapel of Sacred Heart Church, located on 910 Main St S, Southbury, CT 06488, Tuesday, April 18 from 10:00 - 10:45 AM . A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated immediately following the visitation at 11:00 AM in the church. A private burial will take place immediately after Mass.
