Edward F. Hankamp, 83, entered into eternal rest on Friday, June 17, 2022, after a courageous battle with cancer. His final days were spent surrounded by his beloved family.
Edward was born in New Jersey to the late Frances and Estelle (Martinelly) Hankamp.
His career as a property manager in Ansonia and Branford spanned over forty years, where he exemplified his skills as a maintenance technician. There was nothing Ed couldn't fix, and he took great pleasure in helping his family and friends whenever one was in need of assistance.
Everyone who knew Ed loved his lively personality and fun filled spirit. He enjoyed trips to the casino to savor a day of trying his luck, enjoying a nice meal, and seeing a good show, all while enjoying his favorite Dewars on the rocks. Ed's love of animals was second to none as he delighted in feeding every deer, chipmunk, turkey and bird that entered his yard. He especially cherished time spent with his family, where he enjoyed an abundance of gatherings, celebrations, and vacations. Ed was an avid fan of his New York Giants, and New York Mets. We will always fondly remember Ed's catch phrase, "You only live once!"
Edward is survived by his loving daughters Michele Hankamp and Debbie Brai (husband Dave). His three grandsons Michael MacDonald, Zachary MacDonald, and Jacob Lahn. Step Daughters Marianeen Velleco, Monica Millspaugh, Julie Gonzalez, and their families. His two sisters Judy Lagassie (Pete) and Claire Hankamp. And several nieces and nephews.
