Edward Francis Board

Edward F. Board, 86, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, March 9, 2022. He and his loving wife Veronica just celebrated their 60th anniversary on March 4, 2022.  

Ed was born on February 21, 1936 in Jersey City, NJ to the late Edward and Stella (Nawrocki) Board.

He served honorably and proudly in the United States Army.

Ed started his career as a draftsman for Bell & Howell, Bridgeport, CT which brought him here from New Jersey.  He was then a Purchasing Manager for Ledu Corp. in Trumbull, CT then for Cornell Carr in Monroe, CT from which he retired five years ago.

He loved watching his Yankees and Giants.  His biggest passion was watching his UConn girls basketball especially during March madness.

Ed is survived by his loving wife Veronica; their children: Steven Board, Michele (Michael) Cervone, Veronica I. Board, Edward C. (Michele) Board, granddaughter Jennifer (Neil) Flynn and great granddaughters Ainslee Elizabeth and Ellery Paige Flynn.  He is also survived by his sister in law Barbara (Frank) Krajick and brother in law Walter J. Murphy.  He was predeceased by his sister in law Ginger Murphy and brother in law Roger Gentile.

Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Tuesday, March 15, 2022 from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at Carpino Funeral Home, 750 Main St. South in Southbury.  A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 AM at St. Stephen's Roman Catholic Church, 6948 Main St in Trumbull. Interment with military honors will immediately follow at Resurrection Cemetery, 208 S Main St. in Newtown.
