Donna Lynn Dean, 63, of Sandy Hook, passed away peacefully after a brief illness on September 24, 2022. Donna was born June 19,1959 at Danbury Hospital, daughter of the late Richard and Gloria (Renner) Dean.
Donna recently retired from Southbury Training School after 35 years of dedicated service to her clients, whom she often referred to as her babies. She enjoyed shopping, vacationing in Florida, and watching the Golden Girls and HGTV while relaxing in her beautiful home. Donna was gracious and kind-hearted, and never hesitated to help family and friends. Her playful and humorous nature made her a joy to be around. Donna loved her family and was always supportive and generous, especially to her nieces and nephews.
Donna leaves behind five loving sisters, Lydia Andrews, Darlene Colon, Lisa Simoes (and husband Manny), Doreen Dean, Sharon LeDuc (and husband Roger), and two brothers, Richard and Kenneth Dean. In addition, to cherish her memory, Donna leaves her nieces and nephews, Cathy, Nevin, Stephen, Erica, Manuel, Christina, DJ, Alyssa, Jennifer, Danielle, Alexandria, and Kendra. She is also survived by many cousins and dear friends. In addition to her parents, Donna was predeceased by her sister Karen; nephews, Arthur and Damyan; and her niece, Manisa.
Family and friends may visit Carpino Funeral Home, 750 Main St. South, Southbury on Thursday, September 29, 2022 from 4-7pm. The family will be welcoming extended family and friends from 4-6:30pm, with a service to celebrate Donna’s life at 6:30pm following the Visitation.
