Donald Inseson Tribute

Bridgton, ME – Donald (Don) J. Ineson, 91 of Oakville, CT and Bridgton, ME, passed away peacefully at home, with his loving wife, Ann and sons John and David by his side.

Don was born on October 22, 1929, in Waterbury, CT. He grew up in Oakville, CT where he attended school and graduated from Peekskill Military Academy, in Peekskill NY. Don served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany as part of the post-war Allied occupation effort. Don met his wife Ann shortly thereafter through a friendship with Ann’s brother and their common interest in cars. Don and Ann married and bought a house in Southbury, CT, where they raised their two sons, John and David and shared over 50 years of memories.

Don owned and operated a specialty products machine shop in Oakville, incorporated as Ineson Manufacturing in 1956. When Don and Ann were not working, they loved traveling together, with Switzerland holding a special place in their hearts. After Don and Ann’s retirement, they relocated to Bridgton in 2008, and have enjoyed their Maine life together, with family, friends and their three orange tabby cats. Don and Ann shared many happy miles of motorcycle riding in Connecticut and Maine.

Don was an enthusiastic collector and restorer of classic cars, and was a lifetime member of the Classic Car Club of America and the American Motorcycle Association. He volunteered for the local troop of the Boy Scouts of America, and was actively involved in camping and troop activities.

Don is survived by his loving wife Ann, sons John and David, three grandchildren and a great-grandson.
