Tribute

SOUTHBURY - Domenic A. "Lefty" Narducci Jr., 93, of Southbury, departed this life on March 23, 2022 at the Lutheran Home of Southbury. He was the beloved husband of Josephine (Perugini) Narducci for 67 years.

Dom was born in Waterbury, CT on March 10, 1929, to the late Domenic A. and Rose (Mancini) Narducci Sr. He grew up in Naugatuck, CT and, after graduating from Naugatuck High School, convinced his parents to let him join the U.S. Army with a buddy while just 17 years old. He served honorably in Korea from 1946-1948. And then followed his brother Don to the University of Notre Dame. Graduating in 1952 with a BS in electrical engineering, he was hired by the Bristol Company in Waterbury where he spent his entire professional career of 39 years.  Starting as a bench-engineer, he retired as their Marketing Manager. Dom always said that the best part of joining the Bristol Company was finding the love of his life, Josephine, at a company picnic. They married in 1954 and raised their family in Naugatuck.

A family man to his core, he reveled in the lives of his kids, grandkids and great grandkids. A "shot and a beer" often greeted sons and daughters at Dom's house.  He loved to make people laugh and feel comfortable with his humorous and kind words and always wore a smile. He never hesitated to use his many talents to help others, volunteering at the Abbey of Regina Laudis in Bethlehem and looking forward every year to turkey carving with fellow Sacred Heart parishioners on Thanksgiving morning. Dom could make a mean antipasto, bake a tasty lasagna and tell a joke with the best of them.  He was passionate about all things Notre Dame. With Josephine, he traveled extensively in Europe, most often Italy where they always visited relatives. For many years, they owned a condo in Florida where they wintered. Together they created a million memories at their family cottage on Cape Cod.

Besides his wife, Domenic is survived by his 4 children: Nancy (Jim) Augelli, Dom (Geralyn Hoerauf) Narducci III, Bill (Carrie) Narducci, and Maria (Glenn Harding) Narducci. He is also survived by his 8 grandchildren: Jim Augelli, Bob (Tina) Augelli, Mike (Katie) Augelli, John (Ilana) Augelli, Dom (Lauren) Narducci IV, Adam (Alyx) Narducci, Kelly Harding, and Nikki Harding; 5 great-grandchildren: Jimmy, Joey, Nora, Luke, and Evie; as well as many other extended family members and friends.  Besides his parents, Domenic was predeceased by his brother Donald Narducci.

Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Monday, March 28, 2022, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Carpino Funeral Home, 750 Main Street South in Southbury.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, March 29, 2022, at Sacred Heart Church, 910 Main Street South in Southbury.  Burial will follow at St. James Cemetery in Naugatuck.  In lieu of flowers or gifts, please consider a donation to the Abbey of Regina Laudis: www.abbeyofreginalaudis.org.
