Daniel Edward Eifert

SOUTHBURY - Daniel Edward Eifert of Southbury, CT passed away peacefully on August 31st, 2023. He was the loving husband of Maureen M. Eifert. (nee Kilmer) Daniel was born in Long Beach, CA on July 22nd, 1937 to Edward (Ted) and Hilda Eifert. He spent his childhood in Concord, CA. He graduated from Mater Dei High School in Santa Anna CA. and went on to receive his undergraduate degree from Spring Hill College in Mobile, AL. He later received his Masters in Mathematics from the University of Notre Dame, where he met his loving wife.

He worked at IBM for 43 years and traveled the world and filled many passports. He had the opportunity to live in CA, IL and Paris, France but raised his family in Danbury CT for 39 years and considered it home. A true renaissance man, he loved to play tennis, play the piano, sing, dance and spoke Latin.

He is survived by his wife, Maureen Eifert, his son Timothy Eifert and his wife Jennifer Wallis, his daughter Kristin Roca and her husband Vincent Roca Jr., his daughter Kathleen Scala and her husband Jason Scala and their grandchildren Gavin and Emily Roca, Connor and Declan Scala and Dylan Wallis Eifert. He is predeceased by his parents and his sister Cecilia Desmond.

Family and friends may visit Carpino Funeral Home, 950 Main Street South, Southbury, CT on Friday, September 8, 2023 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be given at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 910 Main Street South, Southbury, on Saturday, September 9, 2023 at 11:00 am. The family will receive visitors in the church's Daily Chapel from 10:00 am to 10:50 am immediately before mass. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to The Michael J.
