Charles "Tom" Accuosti Tribute

Charles "Tom" Accuosti, 84, of Southbury, CT, peacefully departed this life on November 1, 2023. He was the husband of Margaret “Peggy” (Manzolli) Accuosti for 66 years, and father to both Thomas and Sandra.

Born to the late Charles and Rose (Bocchicchio) Accuosti, Tom grew up in Waterbury, Connecticut. He attended Leavenworth High School in Waterbury, graduating in 1957. Soon after, he joined the United States Navy aboard the USS Beatty, faithfully serving from 1957 to 1959.

After his honorable discharge from the Navy, Tom returned home to Connecticut and worked for various manufacturing companies. In 1963, Tom founded his own manufacturing business, Precision Methods, which continues to thrive to this day. He had a passion for construction as a “hobby” and took immense pride in building homes and working with his hands. In fact, he built his first house in Wolcott, where he and Peggy lived for twelve years before moving to Southbury. Tom was also always ready to lend a helping hand to family, friends, and neighbors, whether that be fixing, repairing, or building.

While his work was a significant part of his life, Tom found joy in traveling and spending time with his family. He enjoyed many trips to Spain and Italy, exploring new cultures and creating memories with his loved ones. Tom also had a special affinity for wineries and loved sharing a slice of pizza with friends. In his later years, he became a resident of both Florida and Connecticut.

For thirty years, Tom organized Navy reunions, which celebrated his enduring commitment to maintaining their military comradery. These reunions took him to various corners of the country and were looked forward to by all those involved.

Tom is survived by his wife, Margaret “Peggy” (Manzolli) Accuosti; children, Thomas Accuosti (and wife Linda) and Sandra Accuosti Thigpen (and husband Rick); grandchildren, Jennifer Rose Accuosti and Thomas O’Shea (and wife Darcy); great-grandchildren, Davin and Tegan O’Shea; and many friends. He is predeceased by his parents, alongside his brother, William “Bill” Accuosti.
