SOUTHBURY - Charles Paddock, 88, departed this life on September 26, 2019 at home in Southbury. He was the beloved husband of Joanne (Conklin) Paddock for nearly 65 years. Charlie was born in Orange, NJ on February 11, 1931, to the late Walter and Hilda (Fisk) Paddock.

Charlie graduated from Butler High School in NJ and received his MS in Chemical Engineering from Newark College of Engineering. He served in the US army, stationed in Germany from 1955 -1956. He was first employed by General Foods and then Uniroyal. In 1972, he was transferred to CT and settled in Southbury. He had many patents and invented a weather resistant plastic, Rovel. After retirement, he spent many enjoyable years working as a substitute teacher at Pomperaug High School.

Charlie enjoyed spending time with his family, gardening, genealogy, fishing, and hiking. He was a UCONN men's basketball and New York Giants fan. He loved all animals, including his dog Ashley.

In addition to his wife, Charlie is also survived by two daughters Gail Dziubek and husband John of Southington, Cheryl Verrier of Waterbury and a son Glenn Paddock and wife Cherylene of Southbury, his five grandchildren, Michael and Denise Verrier, Alexis Dziubek, and Laurel and Carly Paddock, and two great-grandchildren, Luca and Siena Crocco. He was predeceased by two sisters, Kathryn Gillespie and Barbara Albert, and a brother, Richard Paddock.
