Charles E. Hakli

Charles E. Hakli, 88, of Southbury CT, died Tuesday, February 23, 2021. A memorial service will be held at a later date. He is survived by his grandchildren – Adam Hakli and Abigal Hakli; his daughter in law - Robin Hakli of Newville PA; his step-children - Linda (Alan) Keeler, John (Emily) Henne; Carol (Bob) Fay, and Bill (Laura) Henne; his step-grandchildren - Jaime (Paul) Lindahl, Amy (Joe) Drouillard, Eric (Emily) Jones, Erin Henne, Molly (Jackie) Hewes Keeler, Paul Henne, Tucker (Katie) Henne, Rachael (Drew Switz) Henne, Aaron Fay; and his 6 step-great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends. 

He is preceded in death by his parents Peter and Estelle Hakli; his first wife Audrey Hakli, brother Thomas Hakli; his sons Charles Hakli jr, and Robert Hakli; his second wife Marilyn Truelove Henne Hakli; and his stepdaughter Shari Henne Richardson. 

Chuck was born in Ohio and is a Korean war, Navy veteran. After his time in the Navy, he came back to Perry Ohio where he settled with his wife Audrey and owned and operated a mechanic garage & gas station for over 40 years where he leaves behind many friends. After Audrey passed away, he met Marilyn where they split their time for many years between Cape Cod and Florida before settling in Southbury CT. He was active with the Shriners and the Free Masons. He enjoyed golfing and reading and was an avid Ohio State Buckeyes Football fan. He enjoyed traveling with his wife Marilyn, especially to several Navy reunions. His humor and dry wit will be missed.
