OXFORD - Cathleen Cohen, 65, departed this life on March 20, 2023, at Griffin Hospital. She was the loving wife of the late Howard Cohen. Cathleen was born in Bridgeport, Connecticut, on April 20, 1957, to the late Alexander and Catherine (Hummel) McWilliams. She spent her childhood with her late brother, John McWilliams, on Glenbrook Farm in Oxford, Connecticut. Together they raised 33 horses and taught riding lessons. Cathleen graduated from Saint Joseph High School in Trumbull, Connecticut, in 1975, and went on to earn a Baccalaureate in Nursing from the University of Bridgeport in 1980. Cathleen was a devoted nurse who touched the lives of many. She proudly spent many years in operating rooms at Yale New Haven Hospital, Waterbury Hospital, and surrounding surgical centers.
Cathleen's most cherished job was being a mother. She is survived by "her girls", daughters Melissa Dorazio and Michelle Kowalski. She cared for her respective son-in-laws, Richard and Kevin, like the sons she always wanted. Cathleen's favorite title was "Coco" to her loving granddaughter, Ella. She is survived by her niece, Ally McClure, and her sons, Oliver and Elliott. Cathleen was also blessed to have many close friends. She is now reunited with her beloved dog, Princess. In addition to her immediate family, Cathleen provided motherly love to many. She made hand-sewn costumes for the school plays, held celebrations for everyone, and welcomed all to join her in Disney. Cathleen always left her door open for love and support.
