Beverly Baumgart

SANDY HOOK - Beverly Carol (Bond) Baumgart, 89, of Sandy Hook, died Thursday, March 16, 2023 at Newtown Rehabilitation & Health Care Center. She was the wife of the late Charles Baumgart. Beverly was born on January 8, 1934, to Edward and Mildred Bond. The youngest child, she grew up in Bridgeport and attended schools there. She later moved to Sandy Hook, where she resided for 60 years.

Beverly worked as a receptionist for Hubbell until her retirement in 1990. She was an avid churchgoer who loved spending time with her sister, Marilyn. She was predeceased by her siblings: Burton Bond, Jean Bachman, and Marilyn Boos, and one grandchild: Joshua Donovan. She was survived by her three children: Keith Baumgart and his wife Marsha, Kevin Baumgart and his wife Joan, and Karen Bledsoe and her husband Russell, and her six grandchildren: Matthew Baumgart, Gregory Baumgart, Samantha Baumgart, Christopher Donovan, Andrew Carol, and Lauren Bledsoe, as well as her seven great-granddaughters.

Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation from 4:00 - 6:00 PM on Tuesday, March 21, 2023, at Carpino Funeral Home, 750 Main Street South in Southbury, concluding with a memorial service at 5:30 PM.  Interment will take place in Newtown Village Cemetery in the spring.  For directions, or to leave a message of remembrance, please visit www.CarpinoCares.com.
