Mary Board Tribute

NEWTOWN - Mary C Board, 72, of Newtown, CT, peacefully passed away on September 9, 2018 in Newtown.

She was born in Patterson, N.J. on May 25, 1946 to Frederick J Board and Jane (Kalbfus) Board. Her only sibling was her brother, Jonathan Board, who had preceded her in death.

Mary attended and graduated from the Centenary College for Women (Class of 1966). She then went on to study at the American University in Washington, DC and graduated in 1968. During her professional career, she was employed by Pitney Bowes, Proctor and Gamble and Best Foods, specializing in product planning and promotion. She was a long time active member of the Eastern Star Lady Martha #103 Chapter in Monroe, CT. (Served as Grand Marshall 1981 – 1982) Mary was a strong willed, private and independent woman that allowed her to move on from her disability, as the song goes, she did it “her way” even as she was passing onto another path on her life's journey.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a celebration of Mary's life at 10:00 AM on Monday, September 17, 2018, at the Carpino Funeral Home, 750 Main St. S. in Southbury.
