Cecile T. Nutting

SOUTHBURY - Cecile E. Nutting of Heritage Village, Southbury, CT, formerly of Darien, CT, passed away on July 7, 2019 at her home with her family by her side. She was the daughter of the late Clarence and Gladys Nutting.

Born on April 10, 1931, Cecile grew up in Darien, CT, moved to Soutbury, CT in 1976, and settled in Heritage Village in 2002. Throughout her life she had many careers; Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. in the 1950's, the US Air Force in Anchorage, Alaska in the 1960's, PBP Consulting Firm as a dental office bookkeeping consultant in the 1970-80's, and as a realtor with the Joseph Bette Real Estate firm in Southbury from 1990 to her retirement. Cecile loved to travel and had experienced all 50 states. Knitting, sewing, and studying her family's genealogy were her passions. Her greatest love was spending time with her family and at the family cottage, built by her father, in Maine.

Cecile was predeceased by her sister: Shirley Hughes of Darien, CT. Besides her friends, she leaves her nephews: David Hughes of Waterford, CT, Robert Hughes of Woodbury, CT, Mark Hughes of North Carolina, Brian Hughes of Otisfield, Maine; their wives; 13 grandnieces and grandnephews; and 18 great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews.
