SOUTHBURY - Bruce Joseph Rataic, 55, died Monday, August 19, 2019 at Waterbury hospital. He was born in Hartford on July 12, 1964, to Lorraine (Laing) Rataic Makara and the late Francis “Frank” Rataic. Though he faced many challenges, Bruce made amazing progress over the years at the Southbury Training School. Mr. Rataic’s family would like to thank the residential and medical staff at Southbury Training School for their loving and compassionate care. He will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and caregivers.
Besides his father, Bruce was predeceased by his sisters Claudia and Elizabeth, and his brother-in-law Kurt Beckers. In addition to his mother, Mr. Rataic is survived by his brothers Gregory Rataic of East Hartford; David Rataic of Manchester, and his sisters Susan Beckers of Stella, NC and Maureen Rataic of Maysville, NC as well as several nieces and nephews.
