Vincent "Dino" Sangiovanni passed away peacefully in his sleep on June 25, 2022 at the age of 83 in Southbury, CT. Even though he faced increasing health issues over the past year he remained positive and courageous by facing life's challenges with a friendly smile and his nonchalant and joking manner.
Father to Donna and James, husband and widower to Rosemarie, loving companion to Madeline and her family, “Uncle Vinny” to his many adoring nieces and nephews and life of the party to everyone else, Vincent or "Dino" as he liked to be called, was always good for an unexpected joke, doling out a quirky nickname or just breaking into song as the self-proclaimed Dean Martin impersonator he was.
An honorable veteran of the US Army and hard working MTA employee for 20 years, he successfully raised a family in a loving home on the south shore of Long Island and was able to retire at a young enough age to thoroughly enjoy the last 25 years of his life traveling the world with Madeline, relaxing in the sun, and singing his favorite Dino song "Everybody Loves Somebody", which we will continue to sing in his honor long after he is gone.
Dino's family will receive visitors at Carpino Funeral Home, 750 Main Street South, Southbury, CT on Wednesday, June 29, 2022 from 8:00 am - 9:00 am.
