SOUTHBURY - Theresa Burnett passed away peacefully at River Glen Health Center on April 19, 2021. Born on May 12, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Etudienne and Oscar Bernier.
Theresa grew up in Danielson. She was the loving wife of Camille Burnett for 57 years in Waterford prior to moving to Heritage Village in Southbury to be closer to family. She is survived by her son, Steven Burnett and his wife Shirley; her daughter Patrice Burnett; her granddaughter Natalie Jaramillo and her husband Alejandro; her grandson Michael Burnett and his wife Emma; and five great grandchildren: Maya, Max, Charlotte, Grace and Crosby. She was predeceased by her husband, her sisters: June Schillinger and Anita Beebe; and brother Oscar Bernier.
Theresa enjoyed working as a paraprofessional for several years at Oswegatchie Elementary School in Waterford. Also, she did volunteer work at River Glen in her later years. Her hobbies included gardening and cooking. She was an avid reader of historical fiction and enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and loving kitty cat "Patches."
The family wishes to thank all the caregivers at River Glen Health Care Center that took good care of Theresa.
A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Sacred Heart Church in Southbury on April 23, 2021 at 11:00 AM. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. The Carpino Funeral Home of Southbury has been entrusted with the arrangements. Contributions in her memory may be directed to River Glen Healthcare.
