BROOKFIELD - Linda Marie Orawsky of Brookfield and formerly of Darien, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 26, with her family by her side. She was 72 years old.
Born in Stamford on November 24, 1950, to the late Frederick and Florence Howe, Linda grew up in Darien where she was a proud member of the Noroton Heights Fire Department Drum and Bugle Corps and the Ladies Auxiliary. Linda spent her career in childcare including 14 years in the Toddler Room at Noroton Presbyterian Nursery School. Many knew Linda as the "baby whisperer".
Linda is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Michael Orawsky, Sr. and her four children Jennifer Koutinas of Stamford, Deborah Gentle of Brookfield, Michael Orawsky, Jr. and his wife Heather of Newtown, and Frederick Orawsky of Sandy Hook. Also surviving are her five grandchildren Thomas John Koutinas, Kelly Koutinas, Nicholas Gentle, Victoria Orawsky and Michael Orawsky, III. She is also survived by her three brothers: Rick and wife Georgiana Howe, George Howe and Clayton Taubl, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Linda was predeceased by her brother John Taubl.
