Joshua Goodart Tribute

Joshua James Goodart, Oxford, CT, passed away at the young age of 22 on February 6, 2021 due to complications from COVID-19. He was a loving son, caring brother, and a sweet and kind friend to many.

Born in Boston, Massachusetts on December 3, 1998, Joshua was the beloved son of Timothy and Lynette (Carrachino) Goodart and brother of Justin Tyler Goodart. At the age of 3, Joshua moved to Oxford where he grew up in a loving family neighborhood and supportive community, that were instrumental in creating the amazing young man we knew in our lives. After graduating from Oxford High School, Joshua was pursuing a degree in Cyber Security and Networks from the University of New Haven.

A beautiful soul inside and out Joshua, will be remembered by his family and friends for his remarkable smile, infectious laugh, his eagerness to try new things and his resilience. Joshua loved being around people. He enjoyed spending time with his family during trips to Old Orchard Beach in Maine, Jensen Beach in Florida, and to his grandparents lake house in Maine. He loved to fish, water ski, and go tubing at the lake and enjoyed playing golf, his guitar, music, gaming, and snowboarding.

Joshua was a kind-hearted friend who made a huge impact on all the lives he touched. He had a way of making his friends feel better when they were feeling down. His neighborhood friends enjoyed days of sledding at his home and ice-skating on his familys homemade ice rink when they were younger. In the warmer months they would often play paintball in the woods. As they grew older and entered college, they would all get together when they were home for break having a great time talking and playing the guitar around a campfire at night. The kids always knew where Josh was from his contagious laugh.

Joshua had a group of close high school friends that were like brothers to him. When they were together, they loved to hike, golf, play video games or just hang out.Road trips to visit friends was a memorable part of their summer fun, that were highlighted by Josh and his friends singing along to songs on the radio.

A car enthusiast Joshua adored his Volvo C70 convertible. He was so proud of this car and worked hard delivering pizzas to pay for it. Josh would often be seen on the weekends driving his fancy convertible on pizza deliveries. All were envious of his beautiful car.

Joshua was set to graduate this spring from the University of New Haven. He developed many special friendships there and was working hard towards completing his senior capstone project when he became ill. The University plans to award Joshuas degree posthumously during their Spring Commencement ceremony in May.
