Carol Snyder, 85 of Southbury, CT passed away on January 28, 2021 at Pomperaug Woods with her family by her side. Carol was born in Irvington, NJ and grew up in Rumson, NJ. She got her business degree from Endicott College with a minor in photography.
Carol was an artist who enjoyed painting, photography, knitting, sewing and crafting. She was self-employed and took pride in her business and helping her clients. She made many good friends throughout the years from her career. She loved music, Broadway shows and travel. She loved to bake Christmas cookies and share them with her clients and friends. Above all else, she loved spending time with her grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her son Stephen Snyder of Woodbury, CT and her brother Edward Swikart of Rumson, NJ. She is survived by her son John Snyder of East Brookfield, MA and her daughter Laura (Snyder) Vail of Charleston, SC and her grandchildren Rachel Vail of Phoenix, AZ and Samuel Snyder of East Brookfield, MA as well as her niece and nephews in Rumson, NJ. Carol also leaves behind many good friends and neighbors.
Carol was a long-time member of the North Congregational Church in Woodbury, CT. Anyone that knew her would tell you she was a strong independent woman with a kind and generous heart.
In addition to the support of many friends and neighbors, the family would like to thank the staff at Pomperaug Woods health center for their wonderful care of Carol. She really loved living there. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Easter Seals of Waterbury, CT.
