Antoinette Riley Tribute

SANDY HOOK - Antoinette B. Riley, 97, of Sandy Hook, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 25, 2020, at home with her family by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Lloyd S. Riley Sr.

Antoinette was born in Stamford, CT on November 11, 1923, to the late Antonio and Lillian (Enright) Bombardieri. She was able to celebrate her 97th birthday with her family just prior to her passing. Throughout her life, Antoinette lived in Stamford, CT, Danbury, CT, and Southbury, CT, until finally she moved to Sandy Hook, CT to be with her family. Antoinette worked at Chance Vought in Stratford, CT until they relocated to Texas, and then worked for S.N.E.T. as a telephone operator until she retired. She was an avid reader, loved to bake, cook, sew, crochet, and knit. She loved her family dearly and was always the "glue" that kept the family together.

Antoinette is survived by her daughter Barbara Riley Carlson and her husband Richard of Newtown; grandsons: Christopher A. Kinzig Jr. and wife Abralyne of Sandy Hook, Brian Kinzig and wife Stefania of Naugatuck; great-grandchildren: Sabrina, Emma, Aria, and Christopher III; daughter-in-law: Robin Riley of New Milford; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son Lloyd S. Riley, Jr.

Friends and family are invited to attend a visitation from 4:00PM - 7:00PM, Tuesday, December 1, 2020, at the Carpino Funeral Home, 750 Main Street South in Southbury. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:00AM on Wednesday, December 2, 2020, at Sacred Heart Church, 910 Main Street South in Southbury. Interment will follow at St. Peter Cemetery in Danbury.
