SOUTHBURY - Salvatore Raciti, 86, of Southbury, CT, passed away on February 27, 2019. Salvatore was born in New York City (Manhattan) on November 29, 1932 to Marianna Crisafulli and Giuseppe Raciti. He went to school at Samuel Gompers High School in the Bronx. He married Carol Ann Carlino on June 18, 1960 in Yonkers, NY. Sal served in the United States Navy as 1st Class Electrician E6. Sal then worked as a field engineer for Burroughs Corporation (Unisys Corp) for 35 years and retired in 1990. After his retirement, Sal started teaching electrical tech for New York State BOCES and Henry Abbott Technical High School in Danbury, CT. Sal also was a founding member of American Legion Heritage Village Memorial, CT Post 204, was a driver for Heritage Village volunteer ambulance, president of the HV Men's Club, served on the HV Condo 10 board, active member and president of HVWMCC (Wood shop), and a member of Brush & Pencil Club
Sal is survived by his wife: Carol Ann Raciti; his three sons and their wives: John & Deborah, Robert & Christine, and Gregory & Terri Raciti; and his eight grandchildren: Lauren, Krista, Andrew, Sara, Mary Grace, Robert, Therese, and Catherine Raciti.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 12:00 PM on Monday, March 4, 2019 at Sacred Heart Church, 910 Main St. S. in Southbury. Friends and family are invited to attend a visitation at the church from 10:00 AM - 11:45 AM prior to the Mass. Interment will take place at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Southbury at a later date.
