Janet L. Lawlor

SOUTHBURY - Janet L. Lawlor, 59, beloved wife of Michael Lawlor Sr. passed away Thursday, August 8, 2019 at the Smilow Cancer Center in New Haven, CT.

Janet was born on February 28, 1960 to the late Robert Lawton and H. Elise (Hicock) Lawton in Waterbury, CT.

A long-time resident of Southbury, she graduated from the Southbury school system where she would eventually work. Janet dedicated her life to working with children and was the Director of Child Day Care at Sheriden Woods Health Care in Bristol, CT prior to being a Special Educational Para at Pomperaug Elementary school. She was very caring, dedicated and devoted to the students and staff she worked with for many years.

Being the friendliest, kind, thoughtful and giving person that she was, she always was thinking of others before herself. Everyone who knew her will never forget her cooking for events and the cookies. The cookies that always seemed to be there for all occasions. Her other love in life, besides cooking, was Disney. For her a great family vacation happens in Orlando with having a Magical Day.

Besides her husband of 27 years she is survived by her son Michael Jr. and daughter Erin. Her sisters Judy MacIver and her husband Chuck, Susan McCleary and her husband Bryan both from Watertown, CT.

Janet was predeceased by her brother Robert Lawton of Everett, WA., who will always be with her.

Janet’s family would like to thank all of those who have help support her with their friendship, thoughts and prayers over the last few months and to all who participated, organized and helped in the Swipe for Life drive a few weeks ago.

Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM on Thursday, August 15, 2019 at the Carpino Funeral Home, 750 Main Street South in Southbury. Interment will be private.
