SOUTHBURY - Helen Wulf Moureau, 96, passed away on November 5, 2019 at the Lutheran Home of Southbury. Helen was born on January 16, 1923 in Eagle, Nebraska, the only child of William and Emma (Ewerth) Wulf. She attended public and parochial schools in Nebraska, and received her B.S. with Distinction from the University of Nebraska (1947), and her M.A. from the University of Iowa (1949) after which she taught at Kansas State University.

Upon her marriage in June 1950, Helen moved to Chicago, where she taught at Roycemore, a private school in Evanston, Illinois. Helen, her husband Stuart, and their three children lived for many years in Lake Forest, where Helen was active at Faith Lutheran Church, in LWML and AAUW, volunteering on the Lake Forest Hospital Gift Shop Committee, as well as the skating and decoration committee at The Bath & Tennis Club in Lake Bluff.

Upon relocating to Connecticut in 1974, Helen was active at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Westport, where she served on the church council and as Head Trustee. in 1987 Helen became active as a volunteer at The Lutheran Home in Southbury where her mother Emma was a resident. Helen initiated weekly stenciling classes for the residents whose work was sold at the annual fair, as well as making numerous banners to be used in the reception hall and during church services.

Helen was a true animal lover whose life, through the years, was filled with several beloved family dogs and cats. She had a true love of gardening, landscape design, propagating flowers and vegetables from seed, and preparing the bounty from the family's vegetable garden.

Helen was predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Stuart Albert, and by an infant son William. She is survived by three children; Stuart Jr., Ann, and James.
